Global Communities seeks a Deputy Team Leader in Dodoma for a World Bank-funded gender-based violence (GBV) prevention programme. It adapts the Bandebereho couples model for Tanzania and scales it to 15 councils over 24 months. The position depends on donor approval, with an expected start in February 2027. Requirements
Lead planning, delivery and quality assurance for the programmes strand. Supervise National GBV Program Officers. Adapt the Bandebereho curriculum and facilitator materials in English and Kiswahili. Oversee pilot support and fidelity monitoring. Run a national validation workshop and lead scale-up planning across 15 councils.
Qualifications
Master's degree in Gender Studies, Social Sciences or Development Studies. 8+ years managing GBV prevention or community programmes in Tanzania. Experience adapting gender-transformative curricula (Bandebereho, Program P, SASA! or similar). Experience with MoCDGWSG, PO-RALG and Local Government Authorities. Fluent English and Kiswahili, and experience on World Bank or donor-funded projects.
