Perseus Mining is hiring a Drill & Blast Engineer for the Nyanzaga gold mine in Mwanza region. You will design blasts and direct drill and blast crews, keeping the work safe, efficient and on production targets. Requirements
Design short, medium and long-term blast patterns, charge plans and timing. Analyse fragmentation and optimise drilling and blasting parameters. Give daily technical direction to drill and blast crews. Manage explosives magazines in line with Tanzanian law. Run blast risk assessments and vibration monitoring, and lead related incident investigations. Prepare daily, weekly and monthly performance reports.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in mining engineering or equivalent. 3–7 years of open-pit drill and blast engineering experience. Tanzanian blasting certification (mandatory). Valid driving licence and First Aid certification. Blast design software such as BlastMap, SHOTPlus, Vulcan or Minesight. Kiswahili or French is an advantage.
